IN BRIEF: Judson used a big first inning to score runs and was able to hold a commanding lead for the remainder of the game.
HOW THEY SCORED: Katie Speer, Kacie Adams, and Amanda Rowley each had a pair of hits on the day for Judson. Adams also had an RBI on the day.
SUNY Canton worked its way back, scoring one run in the fourth inning and two in the sixth. The Roos Courtney Hyland was carried the offense, going 2-3 with one run scored and a run batted in.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE: Judson starting pitcher Sarah Lippeatt onlygave up one earned run, striking out five and walking none. SUNY Canton's Jordan Podkladek gave up four earned runs on seven hits while also striking out five batters.
NEXT UP: Judson College finished fifth in this year's national championship and SUNY Canton finished in sixth place.

IN BRIEF: St. Mary of the Woods’ Camille Ulery only went 1-4 on the day – but her hit came at the right time as she smacked a two-run RBI to end the game in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Pomeroy’s remain undefeated and advance to tomorrow’s national championship game at 12 pm.
HOW THEY SCORED: St. Mary’s scored once in the first, and once in the second off a Marlee Yeager solo home run. Cleary would remain scoreless until the fifth, when they tied the game two runs. Catcher Dani Saunder’s hit a single to left center to score Morgan Riche and Kelly Schram.
But the Pomeroys would be respond with a run of their own on an Emma Riffe single to right field, driving in Hollie Jones. Cleary found themselves down again, this time 3-2. The resilience of the Cleary Cougars shined this game. They scored another run in the top of the sixth on a Riche single, which allowed Brooke Edmonds to score. Cleary and St. Mary’s were tied at 3-3. The Cougars then shut down the Pomeroy’s in the bottom half of the sixth.
In the seventh inning, Cleary took the go-ahead lead Brook Edmon single to left center, scoring Sarah Hall. With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Ulery hit a game-winning single to score Baylee Water and Jones.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE: St. Mary’s Stephanie Richardon earned the win. She pitched 2 complete innings, giving up one run on no walks and one strikeout. Cleary’s Riley Thompson took the loss, who allowed two earned runs on two hits in 1 2/3 thirds inning of work.
NEXT UP: St. Mary’s advances to the national championship tomorrow at 12 pm. They play the winner of the Penn State Brandywine vs. Carlow game this afternoon. Cleary awaits to play the winner of the Penn State Brandywine vs. Carlow game.

IN BRIEF: Carlow used a big third inning to score four runs and secure its place in the loser’s bracket semi-final game against Cleary.
HOW THEY SCORED: Penn State Brandywine scored in the second inning to go up 1-0. It appeared Brandywine would advance into the next game but two costly errors by Brandywine and a string of hits allowed Carlow to not only take the lead, but grab control of the contest. Carlow went on to win 4-2.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE: Brandywine starter only allowed one run, but gave up eight hits in five and a third innings of work. Carlow’s Caitlyn Sute went the distance, fanning four Brandywine batters out and giving up just one earned run.
NEXT UP: Carlow advances to the loser’s semi-final match up against #2 Cleary tonight. Congratulations to Penn State Brandywine and finishing fourth in this year’s national championship.

IN BRIEF: Cleary scored one in the first inning and poured it on in the fifth inning to secure it’s spot in the national championship game tomorrow, where seek to avenge their winner’s bracket semi-final come-from-behind loss to St. Mary of the Woods.
HOW THEY SCORED: Cleary jumped on top in the first when Kaitlyn Dormire singled to left center to drive in Brooke Edmonds. The next three innings would go by fast; neither team could muster up a run, and it looked we were shaping for another nail-biter at the USCAA Softball National Championships. But Cleary had a different idea. With one out in the fifth inning, Sarah Hall walked. Edmonds singled. Wallace knocked a through the left s, scoring Hall. Three hits and an error later, and Cleary held a commanding 5-0 lead. They added two more in the sixth.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE: Cleary pitcher flexed her strength in tonight’s contest. She struck out for Carlow batters, but allowed just two hits and did not surrender a walk. She brought the heat and overpowered the Celtic lineup. Carlow utilized three pitchers. Cleary’s third basemen Cheyenne Wallace showcased her defensive skills and showed up at the plate – going 4-4 with a run scored and a run batted in. Carlow’s Kelsey Geyer and Abby Tatgenhorst were the lone bright spots at the plate, contributing a hit a piece on the night.
NEXT UP: Cleary advances to the title game tomorrow against St. Mary of the Woods. Cleary must win two in a row to capture a ring. First pitch is at noon tomorrow at Firestone Stadium.
