We’ve experienced
unfavorable weather conditions over the last three days of the
USCAA Softball National Championship. The Akron area has been hit
with eight inches of rain, and the forecast is projecting more rain
and severe weather for the rest of the day today and Thursday. With
fields in unplayable condition and up to five more games left to be
played, we made the decision to make the tournament single
elimination. Thus, Lindenwood University-Belleville will be crowned
as the 2014 USCAA Softball National Champion.
Although this decision is regrettable, please know that it was not made lightly. The tournament staff made every opportunity to play all games, but completing the tournament was not possible.
